Smell Testing (and Spell Checking) the new Jindal Campaign Ad

Once again, the dynamic duo of Bobby Jindal and Rolfe McCollister are playing it fast and lose with campaign finance rules. This time it’s in the form of the new ad being promoted by McCollister’s 527 group Believe in Louisiana.

This past week, McCollister has been at the center of the Governor’s campaign finance ethics violation when he offered to take the blame (and write the check) for for the Governor’s fine. The ethics board told McCollister to get lost, which has led Jindal and company to get personal with the Ethics Board by threatening to cut funding and dilute its authority.

Meanwhile, McCollister is showing that his attention to spelling is about as good as his attention to where money is going. McCollister, who touts himself as a publisher of the Baton Rouge Business Report, evidently wouldn’t be able to get a job as a copy editor at his own publication, as he is allowing his ad to be promoted with “email” spelled as “emall.” Can anyone say “spellchecker”?
