Hollis to announce for US Senate on May 12

He will focus on his 18 year history in the Republican Party and contrast that with Kennedy’s recent conversion to the party within the last eight months. In addition, he said he will remind voters that “Kennedy ran for the U.S. Senate in 2004 as a liberal Democrat” and finished third.

Paul Hollis was in bombastic mood on Ringside Politics. He made it clear he is seriously considering challenging John Kennedy in the GOP primary. Hollis’ message:

Vote for the conservative. There’s only one in this campaign

Shields: Kennedy is just a body

Gerard Shields points out the inconsistencies thrown up by the NRSC’s 2004 opposition research document and Kennedy’s newly minted Republican status. He then comes to this damning conclusion:

But the Bush administration didn’t recruit Kennedy because of his policies, they were just looking for a body to throw up against Landrieu.
