Not very likely. But mayoral candidate Nadine Ramsey and Council District A candidate Jay Batt have more in common than one would expect. In what is probably a sign of laziness more than anything, the odd couple’s respective websites are very similar, similar meaning exactly the same. Compare Ramsey’s site to Battman’s.

According to an article on Politico’s gossip site Click, former Newt Gingrich aide and current Communications Director for lame duck Congressman Joseph Cao Princella Smith is a “media hound and shameless attention getter.” Politico provides examples of the bizzare communications strategy of a Congressional staffer promoting herself over her boss:
“Her personal website, princellasmith.com, suggests she has no shortage of confidence: Not only can readers follow her blog, but there’s a photo and video gallery, plus a form for anyone wishing to book her as a speaker.”
Her poses for the camera certainly seem to confirm this. What are the odds that she pitched this profile to Politico?

A “Democratic operative” tells the Southern Political Report that State Representative Cedric Richmond is the strongest candidate to take on lame duck Congressman Joseph Cao.

While enough has probably been said about jet-setting Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s nationally mocked response to President Obama’s State of the Union Address, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean caused us to bring up Bobby’s speech one more time in his appearance on Meet the Press this morning. More after the jump.

WWL TV reports that State Representative Cedric Richmond announced today that he will run for Louisiana’s Second Congressional District next November.
According to Richmond, Congressman Cao’s “vote against President Obama’s Economic Recovery Act and his refusal to take the President’s phone call during debate over the bill” are ”further examples of Cao’s ineffectiveness and lack of respect for his constituents”
According to Roll Call, an anonymous former Republican Congressman compares the listening tour of national Republicans to that of award winning businesswoman, writer, director, and producer Stormy Daniels.
This former congressman failed to note, however, the biggest difference between the listening tour of Stormy Daniels and that of Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney, Stormy’s tour actually drew crowds. Stormy also announced the concept of her listening tour months ago, so there is no doubt as to the originator of the hottest concept in politics.
According to The Gambit , at a listening tour stop in New Orleans, Baton Rouge native and award winning writer, director, and producer Stormy Daniels, a potential candidate against disgraced junior Senator David Vitter, is also not particularly fond of Louisiana’s other senator, fighting and winning Mary Landrieu.
From Twitter: Following the news that Senator Mary Landrieu will recommend to President Obama that U.S. Attorney Jim Letten remain in his job, disgraced junior Senator David Vitter tweeted “We secured a win today in Senator Landrieu supporting Jim Letten as US Attorney…”
Senator Vitter has been a long time promoter of Jim Letten, going back to their boyhood days as sexually repressed teens at De La Salle High School. According to sources, privately citing Jim Letten’s “discretion” in choosing who to prosecute in a case involving a certain house on Canal St., Senator Vitter has felt indebted to Jim Letten for years. Perhaps Mr. Letten will feel that the favor has since been returned, now that the junior senator has used his well known charm with women to woo Senator Landrieu into supporting Letten.
Republican Congressman Joseph Cao is sending very mixed signals to President Obama. Whether he is playing hard to get, or he is simply undecisive, Cao has left Obama metaphorically waiting by the phone in a prom dress the president may never wear. One minute, Cao is telling the president that he is not that into him, the next he is telling all his friends about the hook up.
Elected by blurring his party and the issues in his predominantly Democratic district, since Mr. Cao went to Washington he has followed his party line on almost every vote. Moreover, he contradicted his wide-eyed Capraesque wonder and curiosity of government by not taking President Obama’s phone calls during the stimulus vote.
